The Trustee is an elected office of a four year term. The Trustee serves as the banker of the county and in this position must implement a sound cash management policy because of its effect on other county offices and on tax payers. The office serves as the county bank since it handles all receipts and disbursements for the operating departments of general government, public education and highways. The trustee is responsible for billing and collection of property taxes, maintaining accurate records of property tax payments, managing the total cash of the county and investing the idle cash funds. The Tennessee Code Annotated describes the operating procedures under which the Trustee must adhere.

Tax Relief Program: The Trustee office administers the Tax Relief Program through the State of Tennessee and our office encourages each individual that is 65 or older or is a disabled homeowner or a 100% disabled veteran to stop by or call our office at 684-4303 to discuss the qualifications of this program. This program has been in effect since 1976.
