Daniel became Bedford County Finance Director in April 2007 after the County Commission passed the 1981 Financial Management Act, which consolidated all the county’s financial functions into one central office and required the County to hire a Finance Director.
He graduated Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville where he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Later he became a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Government Finance Manager.
His work experience includes being audit supervisor at Joseph Decosimo & Co., a staff accountant of Randolph, Kersey, Arnett & Kirksey in Cleveland, TN., legislative accountant for the State of Tennessee, Division of County Audit in Nashville, faculty member teaching accounting courses at Chattanooga State Technical Community College and course administrator and instructor of Convisor-Duffy CPA Review Course in Chattanooga.
Prior to becoming Bedford County Finance Director Daniel held the position of Finance and Accounting Manager for the County’s Board of Education.
He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Government Accountants and Institute of Management Accountants.
Civic organizations include the Shelbyville Rotary Club and a former member of the Chattanooga Jaycees.
He has been married 33 years to Charlotte who is a teacher at South Side School. The couple has a daughter, Tabitha Groves, who lives in Murfreesboro.
